Upgrade to gas network

- Shirley Bartynek

Roadworks began in Hamilton town centre last week.

More than £74,000 will be spent on upgrading the gas network around Hamilton town centre.

Motorists will face weeks of delays as SGN proceed with the project, which started in Muir Street.

Phase two will begin on Monday, January 29, for around four weeks.

SGN will be working in Muir Street between its junction with Lower Auchingramont Road and the nearby Lidl supermarket.

To allow engineers to work safely, they will need to restrict the westbound carriageway to one lane. SGN aim to minimise disruption.
