Injury list problem for ’Gow

With several days of snow wiping out the entire Saturday card, West Region Junior FA officials decided on a‘same again’fixture list for this weekend.

Wishaw will make am eighth attempt to settle their Scottish Cup third-round tie at home to Dundee Downfield, while Bellshill Athletic look forward to facing East Premier League side Sauchie in a fourth-round clash.

In the Super First Division Larkhall Thistle are away to Kello Rovers, while in the Central First Division home games are lined up for Blantyre Vics (Port Glasgow), Shotts Bon Accord (Greenock) and Thorniewood United (Benburb).

Lesmahagow head for Glasgow Perthshire, with manager Robert Irving (above) struggling to boost his threadbare squad.

“Clydebank have come in with a signing deal for Steven Higgins, which we have agreed to,”said Irving.

“He scored 16 goals for us this season, so he will be missed.

“Defender Mark Houston has quit because of work commitments and difficulty travelling to training from his home in Baillieston.

“We also have Lewis Mcdougall out with a broken rib, Jordan Lithgow with a broken foot, and Darren Lygate with a fractured skull sustained in a works accident.

“I have a few new signings in mind, but we’ve still to meet and talk about it.”
