Darian Mackinnon says Hamilton are hurting from their derby Scottish Cup defeat against Motherwell – and hopes Hearts and Dundee feel their wrath.
The midfielder wasn’t pleased with the performance as Accies shipped two avoidable counters via an own-goal and a penalty.
Young defender Scott Mcmann scored a bizarre own-goal after just four minutes and Alex Gogic conceded a 35th-minute penalty for a trip on Curtis Main as he made his way into the box.
Mackinnon stuck up for Mcmann before saying everybody had to play better when they hosted Hearts last night (Wednesday) and Dundee on Saturday.
He said: “We’re hurting, it’s not just the fans. It probably hurts us more. I know they might not like to hear that, but when you’re playing out there and we’ve played like that it ruins your whole weekend.
“It obviously ruins theirs as well but we want to pay them back.
“We have to be better. It’s difficult to take, and it’s frustrating – I was getting angry on the pitch, but listen, we’ll take our medicine and we will move on.
“It’s a tough run of games but we always bounce back, so hopefully we can put a performance on, get the points on Wednesday night and just put this one to bed.
“We won the game here in the league, which is probably more important. Obviously you want a cup run but if you
