Forget about defeat

-

Alex Gogic has told his Hamilton team-mates to forget about their Scottish Cup crash at Motherwell.

Gogic conceded a first-half penalty, adding to an own-goal, as Accies went to pieces at Fir Park in the fourth round of the national competition.

But with games against Hearts last night (Wednesday) and Dundee on Saturday, Gogic says they need to put it behind them.

He said:“you never want to lose a derby, especially in a cup game, and especially the way we lost.

“It was hard but we have to keep our heads up, we have important games coming up and we need to focus on them.

“We were not all at it as we should be and I think that’s what set the tone in the first half.

“In the second half we had a couple of chances, especially Rakish Bingham’s header and David Templeton had a great shot just before the end of the first half.

“I think if we scored one it would be a different story, especially if it had been just before the end of the first half, but we had our chances and it just didn’t want to go in.

“We have to focus on games coming up now, forget about this. That’s what football is all about; sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, and it’s about how strongly you come back.

“We’re hurting, we have a point to prove, for sure.”
