Man caught with knife

A man who was caught with a knife at a Motherwell gym has been jailed for a year at Hamilton Sheriff Court.

Andrew Neil (23), a prisoner, admitted having an offensive weapon at Pure Gym in the town’s Brandon Parade South while on bail for another matter on November 13.

He also admitted stealing cash, bank cards, chocolates and alcohol from a house in Netherton Road, Netherton, on November 12 or 13.
