Youthhad imitation firearm

A Motherwell youth was caught making threats and in possession of an imitation shotgun.

Aaron Pritchard (18), of Alexander Path, was already on bail and the subject of a community payback order at the time.

Pritchard appeared at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week and admitted having an imitation firearm without authority in Barons Road, Motherwell, on February 1. He also admitted shouting abuse and threats at people there and assaulting a police officer.

Sheriff Vincent Smith imposed a two-year community payback order with a condition that he takes up accommodation with a Manchester-based rehabilitation charity.

Pritchard was given a CPO at the same court in November after he was caught carrying a knife in Motherwell town centre.
