Snappers welcome guest speaker

-

Motherwell Photographic Society welcomed a guest speaker last week.

Bob Collins from Queens Park Camera Club presented a talk called ‘Look at What I’ve Found’ that consisted of prints from his vast portfolio, taken in various locations and countries.

He stressed the importance of planning the shot. However, he also said that spontaneous shots can be good and that people should always be looking about them for the unexpected.

One piece of advice was to build a series of folders containing photos that could be used as backgrounds – like buildings, clouds and the night sky. Subjects could then be imported into these backgrounds to create a totally new image.

Motherwell Photographic Society meet on Thursdays at 7.30pm in Holytown Community Centre, Stevenston Street, Holytown.

Anyone with an interest in photography, no matter your level, is welcome to attend.
