Should Quarry Street be opened up to vehicles?

-

A consultation is underway into the regeneration of Hamilton Town Centre.

A proposal to reopen Quarry Street to vehicles is in the mix. Nicolle Cassels took to the street to ask people what they thought of the plan. Frank Gallacher (63) from Hamilton said:“i don’t really know if it’s a good idea. It might cause more congestion going up the street.” Liz Kerr (73) from Hamilton said:“no way! It’s just more money going to waste. What are they going to do with the big boulders that are already in the middle of the street?” Andrew Mikle (69) from Motherwell said:“well there’s not much here anyway, it’s probably just much the same as Motherwell.” Cathie Paterson (87) from Blantyre said:“well I think it’s okay the way it is the now. I don’t really think it’s a good idea.”
