Robinson: Red card saved Celts

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson says Cedric Kipre’s controversial red card prevented his side from beating champions Celtic at Fir Park on Sunday.
The hosts seemed to be holding their own before Kipre was shown a straight red card following a clash with Celtic captain Scott Brown, amidst claims that he lashed out.
Following the 0-0 draw, Robinson said:“i was coming in at half-time to say to the players‘more of the same, you’ll win the game, we’re the team on top making all the chances’and then the game turns on its head with a decision.
“I think everybody knows it wasn’t a sending off. Two people brush together, if there had been two yellow cards out of it you might have thought it was harsh.”
Robinson added:“what I want to talk about was how good we were, how organised we were. I’m proud of my players after that performance. We got a very well deserved point.”
Motherwell started well, with Celtic keeper Scott Bain forced into saves from Chris Cadden, Curtis Main and Ryan Bowman before turning a thundering Main free-kick round a post.
In the second half, Tom Rogic had a shot saved before Patrick Roberts clipped the top of the crossbar.
Main appeared to be fouled in the box by Jack Hendry but referee Craig Thomson wasn’t interested, before a saving tackle by Richard Tait denied Scott Sinclair a late winner.
