A man has been accused of trying to stab two police officers at his Hamilton home.

Paul Mcaleer (22), of Brankholm Brae, is alleged to have made threats, brandished a blade and lunged at PCS Sharon Murdoch and Robert Bryson on March 31.

A further charge states that he shouted abuse, brandished the knife and uttered threats.

Mcaleer pleaded not guilty to all charges at Hamilton Sheriff Court last week. Trial was set for July 2 and he was released on bail.
