The following planning applications for Avondale were submitted to South Lanarkshire Council between Monday, April 2 and Sunday, April 8:

Change of use and external alterations to existing agricultural shed to form dog boarding kennels, formation of external exercise area with associated fencing and new vehicular access road, West Browncastle Farm, Browncastle Highway, Strathaven. Applicant, Mr Dennis Hodgkiss.

Meanwhile, the following planning applications were approved for Avondale by South Lanarkshire Council during the same period:

Installation of flue onto rear of dwelling (listed building consent), 39C Kirk Street, Strathaven. Applicant, Miss Moira Lamb.

Installation and display of advertisement signage to existing retail store (1 amended totem sign, 1 new pedestrian post sign and 2 new welcome wall signs), Sainsbury’s, 85 Kirk Street, Strathaven. Applicant, Undefined.

Conversion of integral garage to form habitable room, 20 Rickard Avenue, Strathaven. Applicant, Mark Leitch.

External alterations to dwelling house including installation of Juliet balcony (retrospective), 20 Todshill Street, Strathaven. Applicant, Mr Les Mclaughlin.

Alterations to install new windows at front of house, 38 Kirkland Park Avenue, Strathaven. Applicant, Mr P Murray. It was decided that this was a permitted development.
