Craft bombers up for award
Uddingston Craft Bomb were delighted to be shortlisted for an Epic Award.
The awards are held by the Voluntary Arts Organisation and will showcase 31 wonderful projects across the UK and Ireland.
A spokesperson said: “As you can imagine, we are totally humbled and chuffed to have reached this far, its only been achievable by having a committed team on board, fantastic groups and an awesome community behind us.
“Lets get behind each other, let the wider public see how supportive Uddingston is of each other, and how our community matters.
“We would love to win this award as recognition of the community here in Uddingston and their commitment to coming together to make visual art for everyone to enjoy. The winner is decided by public vote so get voting!”
Uddingston Craft Bomb began in 2016 when two local crafters decided to brighten up the town with outdoor visual art installations.
This was so well received that in 2017, the event grew much bigger. Local groups and individuals from nursery age children to the elderly, worked together to create craft work that was displayed in public spaces, community venues and local businesses in and around Uddingston throughout the year.
