Focus is now on Killie

-

Danny Redmond says Hamilton must put their defeat against Celtic behind them and focus on Kilmarnock on Saturday.

The Liverpool-born midfielder says the clash against Stevie Clarke’s men is game of the season so far and says it’s important to head into the post split fixtures with as many points as possible.

Redmond says Darren Lyon’s red card last week swung the game in Celtic’s favour – then admitted a penalty for a ‘push’on him by Jack Hendry would have been a soft award.

He said:“i thought up until the red card we were in the game for most of the time, we created some chances. But the red card changed the game.

“It’s hard enough playing Celtic as it is. With 10 men it’s going to be very difficult but the shape of the team was really good after that and I thought we were unlucky not to take something from the game.

“We had a little chance at the end but it’s always going to be difficult against them.”

Redmond knows Saturday’s clash could go a long way to keeping Accies in the top flight for a record-setting fifth season but says it will be difficult against Kilmarnock.

He said:“we have to get ourselves together and go again on Saturday against Killie. It’s game of the season.

“Coming up to the split, we need as many points as we can get.”
