SSPCA’S Rehoming Week plea

-

Hamilton’s animal rescue is appealing for help from Lanarkshire animal lovers ahead of their Rehoming Week event.

The Scottish SPCA is looking for people to donate prizes for an open day raffle and tombola.

Members of the public are being encouraged to go along, have fun and meet the animals in their care who are looking for a forever home.

The event will be at the Bothwell Road centre on Saturday, May 12.

Rehoming centre manager Peter Fleming is appealing to kind-hearted locals to donate toiletries, wine and any unwanted gifts they might have lying around from Christmas.

Peter said: “we’re looking forward to the open day and hope we can find new homes for some of the many animals in our care.

“We’ll be running different events on the day and would really appreciate any donations for the raffle and tombola.

“The money raised on the day will help abused, abandoned and injured animals throughout Scotland.

“As an animal welfare charity we receive no government or lottery funding so we rely entirely on the support of the public.”

Donations can be handed into the centre on Bothwell Road. For more information on Scottish SPCA fundraising events, email fundraising@ scottishspca.org or call on 03000 999 999 (option 4).
