Album is launched in living room

- Shirley Bartynek

Lanarkshire band December celebrated the launch of their new album with a gig in an unusual setting – a living room in Hamilton.

The new album Sister and Brothers is the band’s follow up to 2016’s I Will Let You Have Your Say.

And the band launched it with a set that was shown live on Facebook.

The album reflects on growing up in 80s Lanarkshire and the struggles of making it through poverty, broken families and the sectarian divide.

Ails Pattison, singer with the band said: “This set of songs is our best attempt to chart how it felt to grow up in Lanarkshire in the 1980s – and to make it through because it wasn’t always an easy time.

“But that’s where we come from, and our music too.

“The living room launch gig is because we wanted to do something a bit different that we could broadcast to our audience worldwide via Periscope and Facebook live.

“We also wanted to do something a bit more personal for our long-term followers and supporters.”

Last year found the band toured the UK and Ireland and were invited to play in Sao Paulo, Brazil.

And they will be in Europe later this year with gigs in Belfast, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Dublin.

December are Ails Pattison (vocals), Paul Ferrie (guitars) and Scott Pattison (guitars).
