Kenny praises recovery

-

Kenny van der Weg has absolutely no regrets about downing old club Ross County and praised Hamilton for bouncing back from last week’s defeat at Partick Thistle.

The Dutch defender left the Highland club in January to join Accies. Since then he has helped take four points from the Staggies.

And van der Weg says Hamilton deserve credit for coping with the pressure in the latest County match.

He said:“for everybody at Hamilton it meant the same – it was an important game and there was a lot of pressure but we did well.

“We lost last week, we lost a few before that. So to turn up and win like that, it was a great performance.

“First you need to look to yourself and not to the other team.

“We lost against Thistle and could still have been down from that.

“That could have made the County game a lot different.

“If we lost we would have been down the bottom but we played well.

“We didn’t give a lot of chances away, I think only one, and maybe in the last 15 minutes they created a little bit but that was because they put everything up front.”

Kenny added:“now we have the three points but we need to keep going.

“We were in on Monday again and we will work hard every day.

“And we need to fight every day until the last game.”
