Shotts BA ........ 5 Whitletts ......... 0

Shotts clocked up a 5-0 weekend win over Whitletts Vics in a West of Scotland Cup second round tie at Hannah Park.

The Ayrshire challenge lasted for 21 minutes before Shotts took the lead through Kit Cummins, and when he was brought down in 42 minutes, Danny Burns netted the penalty.

Shotts added a third in 69 minutes through Justin Watson, Burns netted the fourth in 76 minutes, and Steve Aitken rounded off the scoring after Scott Crone had flicked on an Ally Martin corner.

A 1-0 league defeat at home to Blantyre on Monday night resulted in Shotts parting company with manager Kieran Mcguinness and Paul Finnigan.

Larkhall lost 4-0 to Rossvale in a Central League Cup third round clash; already down to 11 fit players, their cause wasn’t helped when both Gary Mcstay and Josh Payne were red carded.

Manager Duncan Sinclair said: “There was no way back after that.”

Lanark United lost 2-0 away to Cumbernauld in the third round on Saturday, and Shettleston were awarded the tie 1-0 when Thorniewood couldn’t field a side and conceded.

A club statement said:“after Wednesday’s game we suffered further injuries to an already extensive list, and as we weren’t able to field trialists in a cup tie or allowed to reschedule, the club was left with no alternative but to concede.”
