It was another busy week on the Hamilton Advertiser’s Facebook page.

Many of our readers commented on our story about road chiefs warning of deer strikes on the M74 between Hamilton and Douglas.

Drivers in Hamilton, Rutherglen, Larkhall and Stonehouse were advised to look out for deer wandering onto trunk roads and motorways, particularly during May.

Susan Samson said:“this is what happens when you build on all the green belt areas.”

Arlene Rafferty wrote:“will need to watch out for those deer on my commute from next week!”

Carol Lang posted:“i had a bad accident on that stretch when I was heading home (North) 2 years ago, dusk seems to be the worst time for it.”

Emma Dowds Mcclure said:“i was driving through Strathclyde Country Park a few months ago when I narrowly missed hitting one! I got a bit of a fright.”

Katie Quinn added:“i saw two down next to Asda last week.”

Janie Thomson said:“had a very near miss with two youngsters in East Kilbride between the Jackton slip road and Belle Craig roundabout at the weekend. Managed to stop inches short of hitting them. Terrifying.”

Another story many of our readers commented on was about Hamilton Park hosting a prosecco tea party with a big screen for the royal wedding.

Prince Harry will marry Meghan Markle this weekend, and Hamilton Park are putting on a spread to celebrate.

Visitors will receive a glass of prosecco on arrival, afternoon tea and a refill of fizz whilst watching the wedding on a big screen.

June Orr said:“i want to do something for it as I missed William and Kate’s wedding cause I was working.”
