Volunteer group is on look out for a fitness instructor
Larkhall and District Volunteer Group’s (LDVG) football classics group enjoyed a visit to Ibrox where they were treated to a full tour of the Rangers’stadium and trophy rooms.
The event was a huge success among the members.
The next meeting is Wednesday, June 13, for a screening of one of the all-time great matches, with a total of 10 goals - Real Madrid versus Eintracht Frankfurt at the 1960 European Cup Final at Hampden.
LDVG have various events and are on the look out for a volunteer keep fit instructor.
They are keen to help people aged 55 plus enjoy life and they provide a number of activities and services at the centre in Larkhall.
A spokesperson for the group said: “We are looking for a volunteer to run our easy exercise classes on a Thursday from 9.30am-10.30am and Friday from 1pm-2pm. Our members enjoy a variety of light exercises including circuit training and exercise to music. “Our gardening group are continuing with their plant sales and everyone is welcome to come and see what is available. Planters, hanging baskets etc. Orders taken or bring your own baskets for filling. All money made goes straight back into our funds to allow us to continue with our various groups.
“The genealogy group (tracing your family tree) continues on a Monday, 1-3pm. Lots of helpers to show you the ropes. Why not come along and make a start on this obsessive hobby.
“Our walking group are going on a great variety of walks all over the area from Strathclyde to the Ayrshire coast etc. Is this something you would enjoy?
“Could you use some help with small non-professional handyperson jobs? If so, let us know as we organise a free handyperson service for small, non-emergency repair and replacement for the over 55 age group.”
The group also run lunch club in the Larkhall and Quarter area, where you can enjoy a two course lunch and some good company.
