Last-minute preparations are under way for a duo who will dazzle in the Miss Scotland final this weekend.

Bothwell’s Claudia Todd and Bellshill’s Jordan Mcgill have loved every minute of their journey.

They have both been raising awareness of their chosen charities but can’t wait to take to the stage at the glittering event tomorrow (Friday).

Claudia picked up her dress for the final from Deja Boutique in Hamilton and said she is nervous but excited, adding: “Getting my dress was very nerve wracking but I feel good in it and confident – which is what I think you need to feel when you find ‘the dress’.

“I got my dress from Deja Boutique. I spent a lot of time trying dresses on and actually ended up ordering a special one in which is why I was more nervous as I only saw it a few weeks before the big day!”

The 22-year-old said she has had an incredible journey so far, adding: “I have thoroughly enjoyed my Miss Scotland journey and I am really glad I have made such a close bond with all the other finalists. I wish all of the finalists good luck and I’m so thankful for meeting such amazing and gorgeous girls, inside and out.

“I’m feeling very excited and nervous for the final. I’ve been working out and trying to keep my body and skin as healthy and glowing as possible.”

Claudia is raising money for the Sepsis Trust UK, after she was diagnosed with the ‘silent killer’ at the start of the year. She said: “Meeting the team at UK Sepsis Trust last week made me feel so proud and overwhelmed at how grateful they were for my awareness and raising almost £8000 for the charity which is so close to my heart.”

She added: “I cannot believe that in January I began the year lying in Wishaw General with sepsis and now I am a Miss Scotland finalist. It just feels so surreal and completely rewarding!”

Bellshill beauty Jordan Mcgill is also looking forward to the final. She said: “I am so excited. I am genuinely having the time of my life through this experience and I cannot wait to see what happens.

“No matter what the outcome is, I am so happy to have been on this journey. I’m holding onto every moment leading up to it.

“A lot of people don’t realise that Miss Scotland is more than just a beauty pageant in terms of your appearance. Miss Scotland is an ambassador for our country, and this makes it more about what you can do for others.”

Jordan has been fundraising for the Little Princess Trust and even took part in a skydive to raise funds.

The final will be held on Friday at the Corinthian Club Glasgow.
