Fun for all at Hamilton Park Racecourse family evening

A host of crazy and cool costumes will be on display this week when Hamilton Park Racecourse throws open its gates for the ultimate family racenight.

The Sunday Mail and Les Hoey MBE Dreammaker Foundation Family Racenight on Saturday, July 14, will be one of the summer’s must-attend events for kids and the young at heart alike.

And the event — which sees the return of the famous Hamilton Park Racecourse kids’fancy dress competitio­n — features plenty of fun-filled activities for all the family.

A cool £250 is also up-for-grabs for the best fancy dress outfit, with entries open to under-18s, and organisers are encouragin­g entrants to put on their best and most creative costumes for the pre-racing event.

Lanarkshir­e band The Cutkelvins will also make a triumphant return to home turf as they hit the stage following their rise to fame on the X-factor last year.

The Lanark trio will be joined on the music bill, which gets underway after the racing, by top tribute act and family favourite Little Mix Magic, while Capital Scotland’s Garry Spence will perform an exclusive DJ set.

As well as fantastic live performanc­es there will be a host of other activities, all included within the ticket price, to keep the family entertaine­d, including laser tag, pony rides, bungee trampoline­s, human table football and face painting.

On the course, enjoy top-class racing action, looking out for the highlight £13,000 Sunday Mail Handicap Stakes (Class 4) feature race.
