Less than half of learners succeed first time

At Hamilton, a total of 2642 drivers sat their test for the first time – 1189 passing on that first attempt (45 per cent). Only 13 people passed their test first time with zero faults.

A total of 1297 drivers who sat their test for the first time were male – 635 passing on that first attempt (49 per cent). And nine of those people passed their test first time with zero faults.

Meanwhile, a total of 1345 female drivers sat their test for the first time in Hamilton, with 554 passing (41.2 per cent). Only four drivers passed with no faults on their first attempt.

In East Kilbride, a total of 558 drivers sat their test for the first time – 227 passing on that first attempt (40.7 per cent). Only one person passed the test first time with zero faults.

A total of 206 drivers who sat their test for the first time were male – 96 passing on that first attempt (46.6 per cent). No male driver passed first time with zero faults.

Meanwhile, a total of 352 female drivers sat their test for the first time in East Kilbride, with 131 passing (37.2 per cent). One female driver passed with no faults on her first attempt.

And in Lanark, a total of 922 drivers sat their test for the first time – 472 passing on that first attempt (51.2 per cent). Only eight drivers passed the test first time with zero faults. A total of 409 drivers who sat their test for the first time were male – 219 passing on that first attempt (53.5 per cent) and six male drivers passed first time with zero faults.

Meanwhile, a total of 513 female drivers sat their test for the first time in Lanark, with 253 passing (49.3 per cent). Just two female drivers passed with no faults on their first attempts.
