Avondale road closures: Strathaven • LETHAME ROAD. Closed between Threestanes Road and Crawford Street till Friday, July 13 for road maintenance and drainage works. Diversion via Townhead Street, Colinhill Road, Kirkhill Road, Lethame Road and vice versa. • LOW KYPE ROAD. Closed between Low Kype Highway and B743 Muirkirk Road till Tuesday, August 14 for Scottish Water water mains upgrading. Diversion via Low Kype Highway, B743 Muirkirk Road and vice versa. • B743 MUIRKIRK ROAD. Closed between Newton Highway and C133 Waterhead Peelhill and Linbank Highway daily between 8.30am and 7pm from Monday, July 9 to Friday, August 17; from Saturday, September 1 to Sunday, October 7 and from Sunday, October 14 to Monday, December 10.This is to allow the delivery of Kype Muir wind turbine components. • B745WPL HIGHWAY. Closed between C133 WPL Highway and B743 Muirkirk Road from 9.30am to 3.30pm on Wednesday, August 15 for BT works. Alternative route via B745 WPL Highway, A71 Darvel Road, B743 Muirkirk Road and vice versa. • A723 COMMERCIAL ROAD. Closed between A723 Hamilton Road and Loudon Street from Monday, July 9 towednesday, August 15 – only small sections of the road will be closed at any one time. Alternative route via A72/A724 to Burnbank, High Blantyre Road, Main Street, A725 East Kilbride Expressway/kingsway, A726 to Strathaven, A723 Commercial Road and vice versa. • B743 MUIRKIRK ROAD. Closed between High Dykes Farm and Redding Road from Monday, October 8 to Friday, October 12 for road surfacing works. Alternative route via B743 Muirkirk Road, A70 Muirkirk Road, B743, B7037, A719, A71 Darvel Road, B743 Muirkirk Road and vice versa.
