Roaring into town
Seminar is in Hamilton
Scottish Curling is holding its annual Coaching and Development conference at Hamilton Ice Rink on Sunday, September 15.
British Curling’s head of coaching Tony Zummack will return to share the latest concepts on the delivery model and sweeping (advanced).
The event aims to reform, empower and inspire delegates to create positive change for anyone receiving coaching, and anyone providing coaching and who are involved in development.
Other topics that will be covered include membership recruitment and retention, how to attract a more diverse workforce and new British Sign Language resources for Deaf Curling, a project that is being led by Scottish Curling in conjunction with Edinburgh’s Heriot Watt University.
In 2018, the Year of Young People, they will also launch the Scottish Curling Future Leaders programme, involving external speakers from similar programmes, and explain what will be involved.
The conference is open to all members but is particularly aimed at new and existing coaches, club committee representatives and those wishing to take their first steps to support, develop and grow the sport in Scotland.
There will be time for networking throughout the day, giving attendees the opportunity to share new ideas and plan for the forthcoming season.
Last year’s conference attracted a full attendance, and with spaces limited, those interested in going should book their place as soon as possible.
