Darian’s warning to squad

-

Hamilton captain Darian Mackinnon has warned his side that they will need to be on top form in every game to take points.

The midfield ace says Accies’ performance dropped by 10 per cent in the 2-1 defeat at home to St Johnstone.

And he knows that simply can’t be the case when they travel to Livingston on September 15.

Daz said:“st Johnstone weren’t really a better team than us but they took their chances.

“We gave away two silly goals. We had been thinking‘go in at 1-0, lick our wounds and go again’. But at 2-0 we’re thinking that’s a long way back.

“You’re always looking for that spark, we got it with the goal and thought ‘Let’s try to get a draw out of this game’, which we probably deserved for most parts of the game.

“However, when you concede two goals like we did, then you can’t really expect to take anything from the game.

“We’ve done quite well this season performance-wise, but on Saturday we maybe dropped 10 per cent, and in this league we’re not good enough to do that and expect to take anything from the game, so it’s a learning curve for some of the boys.”

Hamilton travel to Livingston and then face St Mirren at home and Mackinnon said:“livi picked up a good win against on Saturday against Hibs but it’s these teams round about us that we need to be beating.”
