Well win has boss buzzing

-

Motherwell boss Stephen Robinson hailed his side’s performance as they beat Dundee 3-1 at Dens Park.

Goals from Danny Johnson, Gael Bigirimana and Allan Campbell sealed the three points for the Steelmen.

Despite the first half being goal-less, Robinson hailed the football that was on show, saying:“i’m very satisfied. I think the first half was the best performance since I came to the club 8 months ago.

“The way we went about our business and the way they got the ball down was terrific. We played some brilliant football and created so many chances.”

Andy Rose saw a header saved by Jack Hamilton, while Curtis Main sent a couple of efforts wide.

That pressure paid off in 56 minutes when a cross from sub Elliott Frear was missed at the front post by defender Genseric Kasunga, allowing Johnson to sweep home from six yards.

Motherwell doubled their lead 12 minutes later when Calvin Miller pulled Johnson down 20 yards out and Bigirimana drilled the free-kick into the bottom-right corner.

Dundee pulled a goal back through Benjamin Kallman’s header, and Trevor Carson was forced into some fine saves from Paul Mcgowan and Jesse Curran.

But with four minutes left Bigirimana and Conor Sammon combined for Campbell to smash a shot in from 12 yards.
