Work starts on Cadzow restoration
Restoration and repair work has begun at Cadzow Parish Church.
The church received funding from the Heritage Lottery Fund, Viridor Credits, Wren, Baird Trust and the Ferguson Bequest to carry out much-needed work on its roof and walls.
Work is expected to take a year to complete.
A spokesperson for the church said: “Thanks to the generous support of funders and church members, works at Cadzow Parish Church have begun.
“The congregation are also supporting the project with their funds, prayers and voluntary efforts.”
The church are also working on their new Cadzow Music Arts Centre.
The spokesperson said: “As part of the Heritage Lottery Fund grant we are developing the CMAC to encourage musical arts within the community and to promote the unique heritage of the church.
“Cadzow has long had a fine music ministry and the sanctuary is well suited for musical practice and performance.
“We are looking for groups interested in participating in this new initiative.
“The CMAC is also about developing new choirs and musical groups amongst those who might not have the chance to participate elsewhere and is welcoming new volunteers to assist in the effort.”
The church is looking to fill two part-time posts for a CMAC project / volunteer coordinator and a music coordinator. For more information visit www. cadzowchurch.org.uk.
Cadzow Parish Church will be taking part in the Doors Open day on September 29 between noon and 4pm.
