Lanarkshire band cover Scottish classic
Lanarkshire band December are well known for their love of Irish superstars U2 – but they have now released a cover of a classic from Scottish band Big Country
The three-piece issued an album last year that re-interpreted some U2 hits.
Now, they have put out a cover of In a Big Country.
And singer Ails Pattison said of the new version came about naturally for them.
She explained:“in our live shows we were playing a snippet of In a Big Country at the end of one of our own songs.
“It became a really emotional moment in the set and we wanted to try and recreate that in the studio.
“We love the original version – it’s the most live sounding studio recording ever probably.
“Stuart Adamson’s lyrics are so personal and emotional.
“Ours is a bit different but we hope we’ve recorded a version that does justice to a band that so many still adore for wearing their hearts on their sleeves and creating such passionate music.”
Singer Ails and guitarists Paul Ferrie and Scott Pattison are now touring North America and Europe throughout 2018, after releasing an album of original material, Sister and Brothers, in April to critical acclaim.
