Msphails a‘major’ funding boost
MSP Christina Mckelvie has welcomed the SNP Programme for Government.
The Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse member says it will “help contribute to a successful and vibrant South Lanarkshire, driving progress in health, social security, the environment and the economy”,
Funding includes over £2 million for victims of domestic and sexual abuse, with £1.5 million dedicated to Rape Crisis Scotland.
The Scottish Government also pledged £250 million to reform mental health treatment in adults and children - delivering 430 new school, college and university counsellors, and specialist treatment systems for those with serious mental illness.
In addition to the recent M73/M74 roadway improvement projects, the Scottish Government announced a £1.5 billion National Infrastructure Mission, upgrading transport, connectivity and broadband.
Ms Mckelvie said: “The SNP’S plan for Scotland signals a major boost for jobs and the economy in Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse.”
