Margaret and Tom enjoy golden years
Golden wedding couple Margaret and Tom Jolly will celebrate 50 years of marriage tomorrow.
Margaret (71) and Tom (74) were married at St Columba’s RC Church in Old Edinburgh Road, Viewpark.
Margaret was raised along with brothers Tommy, Jim, John and Paul and sister Marie by parents Anne and Patrick Campbell in Viewpark.
Tom grew up in Birkenshaw with parents John and Agnes and siblings Margaret, Rose, Agnes, Catherine, Bill and John.
After they were married Margaret and Tom lived in Uddingston and later Birkenshaw and Tannochside.
Over the years they have enjoyed many holidays both abroad and closer to home, including in America, Spain, Italy, Wales and Ireland, with many anniversaries in recent times being celebrated in sunny Alicante.
Tom spent the majority of his working life in management at MFI in Birkenshaw Industrial Estate, while Margaret worked in retail, latterly for Boots in Uddingston.
They are parents to 49-year-old Anne-marie, Lynn (43) and Christopher (40) and have grandchildren Philip (29) and Emma Louise (22).
