Vics in good hands

-

Blantyre Vics 2007 Youths welcomed Motherwell Football Club goal keeper Robbie Hemfrey to their training session recently.

Robbie, who is also a Scotland youth international, popped along to spend some time coaching the team’s young stoppers and give them some goalkeeping advice.

Hemfrey is in his ninth year at Motherwell where he has shone in each of the age groups up to under 17 level.

His incredible form between the sticks has even seen him rewarded with two caps for Scotland in the youth ranks when he played against Uruguay and Qatar.

Blantyre Vics coach Alan Mcdonald said: “a huge thank you to fellow coach Stephen Rushbury for organising for Robbie to come to our training and oversee the session with our keepers.

“Also to Robbie for coming along in his free time.”

Meanwhile, the 2007s are set to play Kilbirnie Juniors this Sunday at the KG Stadium the home of Blantyre Vics FC.
