Live band to offer a night at the movies
Award-winning musicians’ concert in Blantyre
South Lanarkshire’s award-winning Coalburn Silver Band will host a Brass at Blantyre concert this Friday, September 14.
The band, conducted by Gareth Bowman will be joined by some very special guests at Livingstone Memorial Parish Church, Glasgow Road, Blantyre.
The concert will give the audience a chance to see the band’s recent Coalburn at the Oscars’ showcase – and as the title suggest, the band will be performing music from the movies with some innovative and comedic twists.
The band is also delighted to welcome the young folks from their Intermediate Band who, under the baton of David Fehilly, have prepared a fabulously fun and engaging programme.
Band president Alan Court said: “The band are really looking forward to a return to the Livingstone Memorial Parish Church and have a brilliant programme of music.
“We are especially delighted to welcome our guest vocalist Joanne Crossan and our Intermediate Band.
“Please come along and support the church and band as a fantastic night of entertainment is guaranteed.”
Pay at the door, doors open at 7pm for a 7.30pm start.
Coalburn Silver Band was formed in 1902 and has a long tradition of making music in the local community and beyond.
The band has a full diary throughout the year with various concert engagements, community events and a contesting programme.
