Carluke Rovers .5 Ardeer Thistle...0

Carluke Rovers ended a difficult week in style by blasting five without reply past visiting Ardeer on Saturday.

A number of players were released midweek — with three new faces coming in — and then the club were rocked on Friday by

St Anthony’s ......... 0

Lanark United secured their fourth win on the spin to move into second in League Two.

St Anthony’s started well and forced a couple of good saves from Gareth Halford but Lanark gradually took control and went close a couple of times before Hugh Kerr opened the scoring with a low drive in 25 minutes.

Kerr’s header then rebounded off the bar in 40 minutes but he was well placed to nod in an Ian Watt cross home two minutes later.

United were awarded a penalty a minute before the interval when Watt was fouled, but his spot-kick was saved by Ants keeper Owen Mccallum.

Three minutes into the second half, Mark Haddow had a powerful header well saved, then Craig Stark had a ‘goal’ disallowed for offside.

United did grab their third on the hour-mark, however, when Haddow threaded the ball through for Kerr, who beat the keeper to complete his hat-trick.
