Befriending charity’s joy as club donates season tickets
Hamilton’s COVEY Befriending charity has thanked Hamilton Accies for a donation of season tickets.
COVEY is a voluntary organisation that provides support to young people aged from seven to 18, many of whom have struggled with the effects of substance misuse and other challenging circumstances.
The charity works across Hamilton, Motherwell, Blantyre, Lanark, Larkhall and rural Clydesdale.
Accies donated two adult and two under-18 season passes, and COVEY staff were delighted to pick them up this week.
COVEY befriender co-ordinator Jackie Meager said: “The donation of season tickets from Accies will give some of the most disadvantaged young people in our society the opportunity to see their favourite sport and players.
“The tickets will be used on befriending outings, where the young person and their befriender can go along on a Saturday and enjoy the match.
“The tickets are for every home game of the season, and open to all of our befrienders and young people. COVEY are extremely appreciative of the kind donation and these tickets are a really fantastic opportunity for young people to engage positively in their communities and offer experiences that they otherwise may not have had.” To find out more about COVEY, what they do and how to get involved, go to www. coveybefriending.org.uk
