Nicky still has the X-factor

Former X-factor finalist Nicky Mcdonald is set to make his comeback with a new single and an SSE Hydro appearance for Colours Classical 2018 next weekend.

The Motherwell singer has been named in the line-up for the huge event on Saturday, September 29.

Nicky will perform alongside top acts like Faithless, Seb Fontaine and DJ Tall Paul.

Revellers will also enjoy vocals from Peyton, Emma Gillespie X, Garry Greig, Heather Lennon and Neil Thompson.

They will be accompanie­d by the Scottish Festival Orchestra, Musichoir Scotland and drums by Scottish legends Clanadonia.

Nicky told the Advertiser: “I’m so excited about this event and have been in rehearsals all this week at the Hydro. It’s a real buzz being back up there on the big stage..”

The 21-year-old has had a busy few months performing at events across the country and recently appeared on television’s ‘Loose Women’ panel show.

But he also been hard at work recording a new album and is set to release his latest single in the next few weeks.

Nicky, who travelled the world earlier this year as a cruise ship entertaine­r, added: “I’ve got lots going on at the minute and I’ve been working hard on my second album, spending a lot of time writing and recording songs.

“It really has been all go since coming off the ship and I’ve been performing most weekends at various events across the country – but it’s been absolutely worth it when it leads to Colours Classical.”
