Recognitio­n for kind carer Janice

Hamilton’s Douglas View Care home is celebratin­g the work of Janice Barnes, who has received a Kindness in Care Award for “always going above and beyond her call of duty to ensure residents are well cared for”.

The Kindness in Care Awards programme was launched by Douglas View owner HC-ONE in October 2013.

It recognises the efforts of their kindest colleagues, and the impact they have on the lives of residents and their loved ones.

Resident Helen Robertson’s son, Joseph, nominated Janice for an award as she always goes over and above, by taking time to discuss his mum and ensuring that he is always informed and involved.

Janice always has a smile for everyone and residents and visitors love her because she is always bubbly, happy and helpful.

Douglas View manager, Katy Jenks, said: “Janice always goes the extra mile for everyone and she really takes time to make sure that residents family members feeling involved.

“We’re so proud of her for receiving this Kindness in Care Award, it is well deserved!”

HC-ONE managing director, Elizabeth Roscoe, said: “The Kindness in Care Awards programme is about recognisin­g and celebratin­g colleagues who demonstrat­e the kindest care and the best practice that we can all learn from, and Ashton Grange has the privilege of having just such a colleague.
