Salon helps Alzheimer group

- Kirsten Mcstay

Three Uddingston sisters marked the opening of their new business by raising over £1000 for charity.

Claire, Victoria and Anne Bradley decided to join forces and unite their talents and open their own family run salon.

Reflection Aesthetics, Hair and Beauty, which is based in Old Mill Road, opened its doors last week with a special opening night.

And they decided to use the event to raise funds for charity.

Claire, Victoria and Anne wanted to raise funds for Alzheimer Scotland as it is a charity really close to their hearts, so got the ball rolling and arranged a raffle on the night. Claire said: “When we were planning our opening night we knew we wanted to make it a charity event.”

Friends and family all rallied round to come up with some fantastic prizes.

This included hundreds of pounds worth of gift vouchers to use in the shop, GHD straighteners, goodies from Tunnock’s and even a slab of original recipe Irn-bru.

Claire said: “With our other hairdresser and makeup artist we all donated over £500 worth of prizes. Our clients never let us down either, with so many raffles purchased. The night had an overwhelming turn out, at one point there was a queue out the door!

“We raised £1137.05 which is being donated to Alzheimer Scotland.”

Claire explained why they picked Alzheimer Scotland as their chosen charity to benefit and added: “We have a very close family member suffering from the horrible disease and their immediate family struggle on everyday to ensure their health and well being.

“We wanted to make this event about them all, whilst raising money for the cause.”
