Goalkeeper Gary Woods says the draw against Dundee was massive for Hamilton.

Woods produced a couple of fine saves to keep his side in the game, before Darian Mackinnon’s last-gasp leveller secured a hard fought point.

The keeper, who recovered from an elbow injury to play, said:“we dug in to the end, and that hasn’t always been the case of late.

“Sometimes when we’ve conceded we’ve folded a little bit, but everybody’s trying to impress the new manager, there is competition for places, but overall I thought it was quite a decent performance from us, and a good point.”

Woodsy says everybody is out to prove themselves again to new boss Brian Rice.

He said:“nobody’s certain of their place, he’s brought a couple of new people in, so everyone is going to be giving that little bit extra, because everyone wants to play.

“Ultimately it’s a team game, there are 14 games left, and everyone is probably going to be used, but for now he has only had a couple of days to work on us.

“We had the St Johnstone game last night (Wednesday), nothing the following weekend, and we’ll be back on the training pitch, working hard to approach the way that he wants to play, and put it out on a match day.

“Everyone’s on a clean slate, people who were out of favour might be back in favour, and everyone wants to work hard.

“Ultimately, at the end of the day, we’re all pushing in the same direction to get us out of the current situation that we’re in.”
