-

This week we are looking for assistance with the following crimes.

At around 10.45pm on Thursday, February 7 a resident of Gilligans Way, Hamilton, heard smashing glass outside. On investigating he observed a man smashing up a blue BMW 3 series parked outside causing damage to headlights, bonnet, door and windows.

The suspect man ran off however he is described as wearing a balaclava, grey hooded top, dark trousers and was carrying a metal pole.

On the same evening at 9.50pm in Parkwood Terrace, Hamilton, loud smashing noises were heard outside in the street. A man in dark clothing, with his hood up, was seen running off from two vehicles which had been vandalised. A grey Nissan Qashqai and black Mercedes Benz had their windows smashed.

It is unknown if both incidents are linked however anyone with information should contact ourselves by calling 101.

Two separate break-ins occurred this week where police are looking for information to catch the culprits.

In a 40 minute period between 9.05am and 9.45am on Thursday, February 7, a house was broken into in Loudonhill Avenue, Hamilton, where the PVC door was forced and items including cash and jewellery were stolen.

There is no description of the suspect however this has occurred at a time when parents may have been passing after dropping kids at school and may have seen something unusual. Please call 101 if this is the case as the victims have suffered great loss here.

The second break-in was in Watson Street, Blantyre, between 11am and 4pm also on February 7.

The back door window to the property had been smashed, entry gained and a quantity of gold rings, cash and alcohol was stolen.

This is also a high value theft and the elderly victim has lost items of sentimental value.

Please call 101 or Crimestoppers if you wish to remain anonymous on 0800 555 111.

As readers can see from above serious crimes are being committed during daylight hours and not as expected associated with during the night.

Please remain vigilant to weapons as unfortunately they are still being carried and used in crime.

Do not hesitate to call 999 if you see a knife, police are equipped to deal with this as a priority call and can place other calls on hold.

We have officers on duty 24/7 that carry police issue tasers and also a firearms response from armed offices if required.
