Job fair at M&D’S theme park

-

M&D’S Theme Park are hosting an event with the hopes of recruiting 100 new members of staff.

Following the success of the past two years, M&D’S is holding a recruitment fair in association with the Jobcentre in its search for 100 seasonal staff.

The company has a mix of parttime and full-time positions available across the park and is inviting prospective applicants to attend the event tomorrow Friday (February 15) between 10am and 1pm located in the Family Restaurant at M&D’S.

Matthew Taylor, managing director of M&D’S Theme Park, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone looking for a fun working environment and flexible working hours. Many of our seasonal staff reapply every year, which is testament to the superb atmosphere and team we have at M&D’S.

“Full training will be provided for every successful candidate ahead of the theme park opening its doors at the end of March for our preview weekend.”

M&D’S employs around 250 permanent staff throughout the year which rises to as many as 400 at the height of the season.

Last year M&D’S was granted permission for a major £3m expansion.

An all-weather dome, extra events space and a new ride will now be built after North Lanarkshire councillors gave the green light to the proposals in September last year.

The Alona Hotel will also be extended with the addition of 37 rooms, including a spa and treatment room.

Matthew Taylor, M&D’S director, said at the time: “In recent years we have seen more and more visitors coming from Northern Ireland and the North of England and we are confident that our plans will attract visitors from even further afield.”

Work on the expansion was set to get under way this year.
