dedication of all who work with them, at every level.

“It is also important to acknowledge that the overall standard of applicants, and especially the finalists, is as a high a calibre we have had in the 21 years we have staged these awards.

“Congratulations to them all and long may they continue to contribute to the success of business across Lanarkshire.”

Clear Business founder and director John O’donnell said: “The Clear Business success story over the last six years is something we are very proud of. “The transition from positively focussed a disruptive water supplier to a unique multi-service provider has led to our strong performance record and helped us stand out in this category.

“To be recognised for this and the hard work the team has put in with this prestigious award is a fantastic accolade. Clear Business is Lanarkshire born and bred and we could not have built our business anywhere else.”

The winners were: Big Bite Catering – Lanarkshire’s Best Business (0-10 employees); Document Data Solutions – Lanarkshire’s Best Business (11-50 employees); Clear Business – Lanarkshire’s Best Business (51+ employees); Pulp-tec Ltd – Lanarkshire’s Best New Product or Service; Logos Logistics – Lanarkshire’s Best Family Business; Big Bite Catering – Lanarkshire Food & Drink Award; Devro (Scotland) Ltd – Lanarkshire Employer of the Year; Holiday Inn Express Hamilton – Excellence in Customer Service; Soundsational – Lanarkshire Community Impact Award; and Ross Kerr at Volvo Construction Equipment Haulers – Lanarkshire Apprentice of the Year.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone who attended the awards dinner, over £8000 was raised for Kilbryde Hospice. A Viewpark man caught in the street with an air rifle must carry out 200 hours of unpaid community work.

Stephen Murphy, 29, of St Bride’s Avenue, was also placed under supervision for a year at Hamilton Sheriff Court this week.

Sheriff Shiona Waldron warned him it was a direct alternative to a prison sentence.

Murphy admitted having the weapon and pellets without authority in Laburnum Road, Viewpark, on April 30.
