Get in with the gin crowd this summer

The perfect day out for gin lovers is returning to Hamilton and there’s not long left to snap up the last few remaining tickets.

Organisers of Ginfall have confirmed they will be bringing their gin festival back to Hamilton Town House following the success of last year’s event.

And for 2019, they promise the event will be bigger and better than before.

It will be held on Saturday, June 29, and will feature a mix of gin, live music, food and cocktails.

There will be a free gin cocktail on arrival, a gin cocktail masterclas­s and the chance to meet distillers in person, enjoy free samples and talk about their product.

This year will also see the introducti­on of the Tiki Rum Room, which will feature a pop-up Tiki cocktail bar.

Almost 1000 people discovered the ideal tonic to the scorching weather at Hamilton’s first gin festival last year.

The top tipple was the talk of the town as everyone got in the spirit.

Now organisers coming back.

John Mciver, Ginfall organiser, said: “We are delighted to bring the Ginfall Festival back to Hamilton Town House this year on Saturday, June 29.

“Hamilton was one of the highlights for us in 2018, with attendees and exhibitors alike all proclaimin­g it one of the best gin festivals in the country.

“It was great to see gin-lovers come out from, not just Hamilton, but from all the local areas, including East Kilbride, Uddingston, Carluke, Larkhall, Bothwell, Blantyre, Strathaven and Wishaw.

“In the main hall, we will have more than 60 gins and gin liqueurs – where attendees will be able to sample, buy and meet the distillers to find out all about their gin and the fascinatin­g stories behind each one of their brands.

“In the Avon Hall we will have all our entertainm­ent, featuring a selection of amazing living acts, street food and our legendary gin cocktail bar.

“In 2019 we have also added a brand-new room –The Tiki Rum Room – where attendees will be able to sample rums from around the world, meet the people behind the rums and the room will also feature an incredible Tiki cocktail bar.

“Tickets this year are priced at £15 (no booking fee) and are flying out the door. We look forward to seeing everyone in Hamilton for the gin event of the summer.”
