Jobs fair coming to town
Hamilton is ready to host a jobs fair.
Around 30 employers from across Scotland are expected to attend the event tomorrow, Friday, July 5.
It will be hosted by Angela Crawley MP and Christina Mckelvie MSP.
The event will bring employers recruiting for vacancies, as well as skill agencies and learning institutions, to Hamilton Town House.
It will run from 11am until 2pm and is completely free of charge. There is no requirement to register and constituents are invited to drop in throughout the day.
Ms Crawley, the Lanark and Hamilton East MP, said: “I am passionate about helping my constituents fulfil their ambitions – be it in through work, education or training.
“Too many people find themselves unemployed or underemployed through no fault of their own.
“The Hamilton Jobs Fair will bring professionals from across a variety sectors. It will be a fantastic opportunity for people to meet employers and apply for vacant posts.”
And Ms Mckelvie – the MSP for Hamilton, Larkhall and Stonehouse – added: “Thanks to the ongoing work of the Scottish Government and its partners, Scotland is the best place across these islands to find work.
“Our job fair in Hamilton is a great opportunity to benefit from this success and get access to a whole range of employers.”
Organisations such as BAE Systems, Scottish Fire and Rescue and Social Security Scotland have confirmed their attendance and will be joined by representatives from Hamilton’s new hotels – the Premier Inn and Hampton by Hilton.
