Take a spin and go to the cinema

-

The last time that we clocked Spider-man he was getting a bit teary (spoilers!) at the end of Avengers: Endgame.

To help him get over the blubbering, the friendly neighbourhood superhero is packing his bags and heading off on a European vacation.

Spidey’s alter-ego, Peter Parker, can’t wait to get away and spend some time with MJ, taking in the sights of Venice and London.

What’s the chances though? The high school trip goes off the rails when super-spy Nick Fury recruits him for a world-saving mission after fishbowl-headed visitor from an alternate reality Mysterio rocks up.

This is our first glimpse of the Marvel Cinematic Universe after the big rammy with Thanos in Endgame.

And with a boffo $580 million global haul in its first ten days, it’s clear that audiences can’t wait to see what role Tom Holland (pictured right), as the titular hero, will be playing after those calamitous events.

Zendaya (pictured above) returns as MJ while Samuel L Jackson is always great value as Nick Fury.

Jake Gyllenhaal is dynamite as the, erm, mysterious Mysterio and Jacob Batalon is once again scenestealingly funny as comedy sidekick Ned.

Spidey and Mysterio have to team up to defeat ancient super-villains The Elementals, who can manipulate earth, fire, water and air and have a penchant for destroying some of Europe’s greatest landmarks.

Far From Home is a blast, and don’t forget to hang about after the credits for two amazing scenes.

Every week, we’re delighted to give away some tickets thanks to our pals at the Vue Cinema in Hamilton.
