Young dance stars mark a spectacular year

-

Larkhall dance company Taylor’s Dance Academy (TDA) are enjoying a well-earned break after an amazing year of competition – winning 37 trophies across the UK.

The fantastically energetic junior section have been competing and scooping lots of medals and trophies in their first full year of competing.

They danced beautifully in the Scottish heat of That’s Showbiz UK in March and have secured a place in the semi-final in the Blackpool Winter Gardens in September.

The hugely-talented senior section has danced their way through numerous heats and semi-finals over the months. Their hard work culminated in them winning a place in the Dance Inspirations Grand Final in Blackpool in January.

In Liverpool in March, they took home two trophies at the That’s Showbiz UK Grand Final.

They then went on to become Scottish Senior Champions at the Stars Of The Future Grand Final in Portobello. The seniors will join their junior teammates in September at That’s Showbiz UK for their third consecutive semi-final in Blackpool.

TDA have been invited on several occasions this year to appear as special guest performers.

Appearances include the Darkness Into Light Charity Ball in Doubletree Hilton in Glasgow and the South Lanarkshire Primary Schools Dance Festival.

And the team have also just been invited to appear on the main stage of the Can You Dance? Super Convention in Liverpool in October, where they will share the stage with the likes of the world-famous Urdang Academy and BBC1’S Greatest Dancer winner Ellie Ferguson.

Dance company owner Taylor Douglas said:“I am beyond proud of all of my dancers and everything they have achieved.”
