Playing for laughs at Accies stadium
Comedy gig to raise funds for club’s charity
Comedian Gary Faulds will take to the stage at Hamilton Accies Football Club in aid of Blameless next month.
The popular Scots comic has offered to perform in a bid to raise awareness and funds for the club’s charity.
Blameless offers support to children and their families who have been directly or indirectly affected by drug addiction or alcoholism.
In order to provide such support, as well as fun times, entertainment and events for their service users the charity relies heavily on donations and fundraising.
Up-and-coming stand-up Gary, who lives in Chapelton, was keen to team up with the charity and quickly offered his services.
He will take to the stage in the club’s function suite on Saturday, August 31 at 7pm.
Steven Crowe, of the commercial and sponsorship department at Hamilton Accies who helps run Blameless, organised the gig.
He told the Advertiser: “Gary and his family are good friends of mine and it’s brilliant that he has offered to do a gig in aid of Blameless here at Hamilton Accies Football Club.
“This is sure to be a sell out event so we are urging people to act quick and book their tickets now for just £15 each -and please remember this gig is for a fantastic local charity.”
Gary, an internet sensation who has gone from performing in small bars and clubs to selling out theatres across the UK, added: “I’ve done a few charity gigs for Blameless the last few years, and I’m delighted to be returning to the stage to raise more awareness and indeed cash for the charity.
“This charity works tirelessly to give the children and families of Lanarkshire fun times and happy childhood memories and a gig is the least I could do to help.
“Hamilton is one of my favourite places to gig and earlier this year I sold out the Town House, so I’m really looking forward to being back in the town.
“The Lanarkshire crowds are always brilliant and give me a good bit of banter on stage so I don’t expect anything less now.
