Auction visit is a smash hit Judy and Greg in town to film show

-

Tennis stars Judy Murray and Greg Rusedski dropped into Hamilton this week for a spot of bargain antique hunting.

The pair were actually taking part in a celebrity version of BBC series Antiques Road trip with Celebrity Guests.

And filming got underway at Hamilton Auction Market on Monday morning.

The programme sees antiques experts accompany celebrities on a road trip around the UK, searching for treasures and competing to make the most money at auction.

Judy, a British tennis coach and mum of Andy Murray, and Greg, a former tennis ace, were at the Hamilton auction house to sell their items.

John Mcarthur, market manager at the Hamilton auction house, was delighted to have the sporting VIPS in town. He said: “Filming took place this morning and there was a real buzz about the place.

“We were busy with people popping in to see them taking part in the auction. It was a good laugh and some of the items did really well.

“We’ve been featured a few times now on the programme, as we are used as the end when the celebrities sell their items at auction.”

The auction house at Lower Auchingramont Road, was established in 1874.

They run weekly auction sales every Monday, starting at 9.30am.

Viewing days are Fridays 4pm-6pm, and they are also open on Monday mornings for viewing from 8am before the sale.

The last sale of every month is usually an online sale, with live bidding available.

These sales are for items such as fine art, antiques, collectable wines and spirits and jewellery.
