Something to Shout about as Lulu heads to Lanark

Scottish singing sensation Lulu is set for an appearance at Lanark Memorial Hall this weekend.

Celebratin­g 55 years since the release of her debut smash hit single Shout, her On Fire tour will see the Grammy-nominated singer play 35 dates across the UK, starting on September 19 and ending on November 2.

And the 70-year-old will perform in Lanark this Saturday, September 28.

On Fire is a show packed full of hits such as The Man Who Sold The World, Relight My Fire, To Sir With Love and, of course, Shout, among many others, as Lulu recounts her remarkable life and a career outshone many of her contempora­ries.

Lulu was recently Take That’s very special guest on their 37-date Greatest Hits Live Tour, where every night they reunited to perform their number 1 smash hit Relight My Fire.

This latest tour marks 55 years since the release of Shout, the single that shot her to pop fame.

The singer was just 15 years old when the track, a cover of the Isley Brothers song, crashed into the charts.

Lulu is also well known for her 1969 Eurovision Song Contest winning entry Boom Bang-a-bang, and for the title song to the 1974 James Bond film The Man with the Golden Gun. that has

Backed by her band, a huge LED screen will show carefully-selected personal and career-defining moments. She promises to have audiences sitting, standing, dancing, singing, laughing and simply listening to an amazing story that started in 1948.

Lulu said: “I’ve so enjoyed touring with my amazing band over the past few years that it didn’t take very long for me to get the urge to hit the road again.

“I invite fans old and new to come along and share a great night covering my six decades in music.”
