HAMILTON BAPTIST CHURCH

The services on Sunday (September 29) at 10.45am and 6.30pm will be led by the Senior Pastor, David Wilson.

The morning service will be followed by light refreshmen­ts in the church halls. After the morning service, two members of the congregati­on will be available to pray with anyone feeling the need of prayer.

The next Messy Church will be held on Saturday, October 5. A series of baptismal classes is being planned. Anyone wishing to explore what the bible teaches about baptism will be welcome to attend. Details from the Senior Pastor.

BLANTYRE LIVINGSTON­E MEMORIAL PARISH CHURCH

The Reverend Murdo Macdonald will lead us in worship on Sunday, September 29, at 11.30am.

Please join us for tea/coffee following the morning service. A warm welcome is extended to all.

Sporting Memories Group will meet on Wednesday, October 2, at 7.30pm in the small hall within Livingston­e Memorial Church. Our guest speaker is John Whitelaw from East Kilbride and is a volunteer with Sporting Memories Foundation. John may have a special guest with him, so come along and enjoy an evening with the group.

The Foodbank is experienci­ng low stocks in toiletries and toilet rolls. Any donations would be greatly appreciate­d. A box is situated in the church vestibule for any donations.

All welcome to attend Brew and Blether every Thursday between 10.30am and noon in the church hall. It would be lovely to see you for a cuppa and a wee blether. Everyone will be made most welcome.

HAMILTON OLD PARISH CHURCH

Our service this Sunday, September 29, is at 10.45am when we welcome Rev Bob Kent to lead us in worship.

Creche and Sunday Live for our younger members during the service. Enjoy fellowship over a tea or coffee in the halls after the service.

On Tuesday afternoon the decoupage class meet at 1pm and in the evening we have the Brownies at 6.15pm and the Old Kirk Dancers at 7.45pm.

Our guild’s annual dedication service is at 1.30pm on Wednesday. All sections of the Boys’ Brigade meet from 5.30pm with the choir meeting at 7pm.

Members of the Property Committee are reminded that they should meet at 7pm on Wednesday in the halls

If today, Thursday, you’re finding yourself at a loose end come along to our film club at 1.30pm and see what’s in store.

HAMILTON UNITED REFORMED CHURCH

On Sunday, September 29, we will host our joint pastorate service which will begin at 11am when we will observe Sacrament of Communion. We will be led in worship by Reverend Lindsey Sanderson, minister of Hamilton/east Kilbride Pastorate of United Reformed Church and we will welcome Reverend John Bremner, Ecumenical and Interfaith Relations Officer for URC Synod of Scotland as guest preacher.

Refreshmen­ts will be available afterwards in the hall.

HAMILTON WEST PARISH CHURCH

The next service at the West will be on Sunday, September 29, at 11.30am and it will be led by John Nicolson Reader in the Church of Scotland, tea and coffee are available before the service starts come along and have a chat. All sections of the 2nd Hamilton Boys’ Brigade Company are back in full swing new members will be made welcome.

ST JOHN THE BAPTIST CHURCH, UDDINGSTON

Our quarterly mass for the sick is on Saturday, October 5, at 11am follows by refreshmen­ts in the hall. No 9.30am mass that day. The Mary’s Meals group are having a coffee morning next Sunday, September 29, after the 10am mass.

Donations of home baking and help on the day would be much appreciate­d.

As a thank you for all their hard work Fr. Towey is organising a dinner dance on Friday, November 27, for all the workers in the parish. Please put your name on the list outside the sacristy. Please feel free to bring a husband, wife or friend.

All couples marrying in the Catholic church must have a period of preparatio­n. This year our free marriage preparatio­n course will take place on October 8, 15 and 22, at 7.30pm in the hall. Couples must attend all three evenings or make arrangemen­ts for a course elsewhere.

On Monday the padre pio prayer group meet after the 9.30am mass, a silent prayer vigil for life is held from 8pm to 9pm and the SVDP meet at 6pm.

On Tuesday evenings at 7.30pm the RCIA Group net at 7.30pm in the small hall. On Wednesdays a divine mercy group meet at 7pm in the oratory and a prayer and praise group from 8pm-9pm. AA meeting is at 8pm in the hall.

The prayer garden is open Mondays to Saturdays 10am-7pm. Church cleaning is on Friday mornings after mass if anyone would like to help.

Sunday masses: Vigil 4.30pm, 10am, noon, 6pm. Weekday mass: 9.30am. Rosary: 9.10am daily. Confession­s: Saturday 9am to 9.25am and after vigil mass.

BLANTYRE OLD

Worship on Sunday will be led by Rev Sarah Ross at 11am – all welcome. Refreshmen­ts will be available in the hall following the service.

Sunday club meet as usual. The guild meet tonight at 7.15pm when this week they welcome a speaker from Equi’s ice cream. Next week there will be a floral display. Due to the holiday weekend there will be no meeting of the leisure group on Monday, September 30.

The next sanctus service is on Sunday, October 8, at 7pm in Trinity Church. Bubblegum n Fluff – training event for people willing to support this work with primary schools, especially High Blantyre will take place on Thursday, October 3, in Congregati­onal Church at 7 pm. If you can commit to this and put it to good use late November early December speak to Sarah.

CADZOW PARISH CHURCH

Members and friends of Cadzow Parish Church are looking forward to a unique event on Friday, October 4.

A vinyl afternoon tea is being held in the church hall, Haddow Street, between 1.45 and 3.30pm. While afternoon tea is being served, a broad selection of music will be played from all those vinyl records which languish in homes everywhere with no means of playing them.

Guests are welcome to bring their own favourite piece of vinyl to be played or choose from the large selection on the day. Tickets, £5, are available on 0791053509­7.

ST MACHAN’S PARISH CHURCH

The coffee/pancake morning is on this Friday, September 27, from 10am until 11.30am in the church hall.

On Sunday,september 29, morning worship will be conducted by Arthur Stewart.

A creche is available for babies and children up to three years and this runs from 10.45am. The Sunday fun club runs from 11am in the church hall.

This is an hour of fun for children from three years to 11 years. Come and join us, you will be made most welcome.

On Tuesday, September 24, the Genesis Youth Club will meet. This cub is for young people aged from P5 to S1 The programme for the year includes games nights, guest speakers, quiz nights, Ten Pin Bowling, BBQ and Genesis Got Talent.

The Youth club meets on every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from August until May at 7.30pm in the church hall. Entry is by the back entrance to the church. Why not go along and have some fun and make new friends.

DALSERF CHURCH

Sunday worship on September 29, will take place in Dalserf Church at 11.30am. The service will be conducted by Reverend John Stevenson.

Bible study meets on Monday, September 30, in Hamilton Hall at 11am.

Girls’ Brigade also meets in Rorison meets on Monday, September 30,, in Rorison Church. Explorers is 6.30pm to 7.30pm. All other sections meet from 7pm to 8.30pm. All girls from age P1 to S6 will be made welcome.

ST JOHN’S CHURCH HAMILTON

Morning worship at St John’s Church Hamilton will be held at 10.45am on Sunday, September 29, and the evening service at 6.30pm. Both services will be led by Rev Joanne Hood and all will be made most welcome.

The midweek service, which lasts 1530 minutes will be held on Thursday, September 26, at 12.15pm. Please come along.

The centre will be closed on Saturday, September 28, and Monday, September 30 for the autumn holiday weekend. Sing with the Swing choir meets on Saturday, September 28, 1.30pm to 3.30pm.

The Kirk Session will meet after the Harvest Thanksgivi­ng Service on October 6.

St John’s Centre, Book Corner and Chapel re-opens on Tuesday, October 1. Shoe Box Appeal boxes are now on sale, price 50p, at the Book Corner. Centre open Tuesday to Saturday 10am to 4pm.

HAMILTON SOUTH PARISH CHURCH

Our Locum, Reader Lynette Jardine will conduct the service on Sunday at 11.15am. The Sunday School will meet during the service and tea, coffee etc., will be available after the service.

Our Bible study group meet at 9.30am and in the evening at 6.30pm there will be a further show and discussion on part of the film The Greatest Showman.

On Monday the craft sharing group meet at 10am and the prayer group at 6.30pm.

The Badminton group meet on Tuesday at 8pm. The Wednesday fellowship meets at 9.30am followed by the coffee shop at 10am and the community nearly new shop from 11.30am-2pm.

In the evening the Snowdrops meet at 5.30pm, the Brownies at 6.30pm and the Guides at 7.30pm. The Bible Study Group meet at 7.30pm. During the October School week Lynette is holding a Holiday Club on October 14-18 from 10am-noon.

ST MARY’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH

The morning services at St Mary’s Episcopal Church will be held at 8.30am (holy communion) and 9.45am (sung eucharist).

Both will be led by Reverend Jonathan Livingston­e and all are welcome to join us. Kidz Klub takes place during the 9.45am service and there is a chance for all to gather and chat over tea and coffee after the service.

Our midweek communion service is on every Wednesday at 10am and usually lasts about 45 minutes.
