We just have to move on

-

Markus Fjortoft says losing 5-0 at Rangers on Sunday stings, but told his Hamilton team-mates to draw a line under it and move on.

The young Dane was part of a defence that was placed under siege as the Ibrox side ran riot, but says as long as they learn from it it’s an experience to build on.

Fjortoft says the game against Hibs in two weeks is now vital, as Accies try to climb the Premiership table, or at least stay above rivals.

He said:“we draw a line under this and move on to the Hibs game. The Hibs game is vital; they’re below us in the league and we need to keep ourselves above them.

“Rangers are having their own fight, and as much as we want to draw a good performance from a team like this, we can’t really dwell on it any further, and now it’s Hibs, which is massive for us.

“We’re at home, we’ve proved ourselves to be strong there, and we’re not discouraged at all.

“We put in a good performance against Celtic at home, so we know the quality is there, but Rangers were significantly stronger than us.

“It was tough. You don’t make it easy for yourself when you concede within the first six minutes.

“We believed in ourselves, going into the game, but Rangers are a very good team.

“Now we’re in the thick of it in league games, and you have to learn quickly.

“As much as it’s great as an experience, it’s a tough result and you have to mature quickly.

“That’s good in itself, developing, but result-wise you just have to move on.”
